Ronald E. Stiskin is passionate about assisting families and individuals in transition. Whether securing educational services for children with special needs; planning for the future of disabled adults; or helping seniors and their families identify their next steps, Ronald is committed to guiding his clients to their best outcome.

Ronald has taken training from the American Bar Association in Advance Directives and Estate Planning for LGBT Adults. He has also been trained in Elder Law mediation.

Ronald E. Stiskin graduated from Harvard University in 1986 (B.A. with honors in Sanskrit and Indian Studies) and from Dalhousie Law School, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1991 (LL.B.). He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1993 and to the New York State Bar in 1996. He is a member of the Elder Law and Trusts and Estates sections of the New York State Bar Association, as well as of the Bar Association’s Committee on Issues Affecting People with Disabilities. He is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Rockland County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA).

With thirty-one years’ experience as a meditation practitioner, instructor, and teacher, and with a background in counseling, Ronald brings insight and compassion into all his dealings with clients. He is a participant in the Contemplative Lawyers Group of the New York City Bar Association.

In addition to the practice of law, Ronald spent many years in the field of non-profit development, working on the public and private funding of special education programs.
