Daniel Sosna assists corporations and high-net-worth individuals in all phases of federal income tax controversy matters. Daniel’s areas of experience include transfer pricing and other international tax issues, TEFRA audit and litigation procedures, and tax-exempt entities and excess benefit transactions. Daniel is also involved in tax planning matters. He recently advised a foreign energy company on the application of FIRPTA to its inbound “F” reorganization and drafted a private letter ruling request involving the tax-exempt bond rules.

 

During law school, Daniel concentrated his studies in taxation and volunteered as a return preparer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Upon graduating from law school, he was presented with an award for excellence in the study of taxation by the State Bar of Michigan. Daniel attended the Tax LL.M. program at Georgetown University Law Center as a Graduate Tax Scholar.

 

Before joining Bingham, Daniel worked at an international law firm in Toronto, Canada.
