Isabel J. Raasch is a partner in Gowlings’ Ottawa office where she practises in the area of patent litigation including infringement actions and proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations.

Isabel has litigated patents on a wide range of scientific subject matter, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor devices and manufacturing, computer systems and applications and general chemistry.

Isabel has over 12 years of experience in patent litigation. Prior to joining Gowlings in 2007, Isabel worked in New York City as an associate at a leading intellectual property firm. In that role, she focused on patent litigation in the U.S. Federal Courts. She also worked on the negotiation and management of a large patent licensing program and conducted due diligence and opinion work. Since joining Gowlings, Isabel has worked on a number of patent infringement trials (focusing on both validity/infringement issues as well as on issues related to the quantification of damages) and on applications under the PM(NOC) Regulations.

Isabel is admitted to practice to the State of New York and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
