About the Program

CABA is committed to promoting the rule of law, bilateral trade, the interests of the cross-border legal community and the special relationship between Canada and the United States. CABA’s policy and advocacy program has advanced CABA’s mission and the interests of its stakeholders in connection with issues such as the removal of obstacles to the movement of cross-border legal professionals and the promotion of free trade. In addition, CABA played a prominent and direct role in the successful grassroots campaign and appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada to invalidate legislative limitations on nonresident Canadians’ right to vote in Canadian elections. CABA continues to conduct in-depth policy research on cross-border topics and to engage in appropriate advocacy efforts that further its mission and the interests of its stakeholders.
